AAA batteries are commonly used in small electronic devices, such as TV remote controls, MP3 players, and digital cameras. Devices that, working at the same voltage, require higher currents, use larger AA batteries. AA batteries have three times the capacity of AAA batteries.
However, as the efficiency and miniaturization of modern electronics increases, many products that were designed to use AA batteries are being replaced by models that accept AAA batteries. One AAA battery measures 44.5mm in length and 10.5mm in diameter.
AAA alkaline batteries weigh around 11.5 grams each, AAA lithium batteries weigh around 7.6 grams, and rechargeable (Ni-MH) batteries typically weigh between 14 and 15 grams.
